Description This Variable Angle Wafer Holder for Thermo (“VAWH”) is designed for transmission studies of wafer and discs from normal incidence to 60º. It is designed to accommodate round wafers that are 8”, 6”, 4” and 2” in diameter up to 2mm thick. This accessory features a removable wafer holder for convenient loading of the wafers. To minimize the potential for spectral contamination, all materials in contact with the wafer are made from PTFE or PFA. An optional polarizer mount and polarizer are available. This Variable Angle Wafer Holder fits in most of FT-IR''s, including Nicolet iS10 and 6700. Holder to accommodates round wafers: 8”, 6”, 4” and 2” in dia.; 125 micron to 2 mm thick. Angular Range: 0-60º incident angle relative to the normal Removable wafer sample holder Materials in contact with the wafer: PTFE and PFA Floor mounted for specified spectrometer (NI8 or N11) Optional polarizer mount available. Wafer sample holder will be small enough to fit within the NI8 sample compartment (with cover closed) and fully enclose a 6” diameter wafer. Larger wafers will extend out of the top of the holder; the NI8 sample compartment cover will need to be left open for analysis. Note that the iS10 sample compartment cover will not close over the wafer holder.
